What is life with out Passion??? What is life without communication?? What is life without agreeing to disagree?

My husband saw everything in black and white, cup is always 1/2 empty, and everyone is always suspect. He said, as sarcastic and cynical as I am, I live in a "Pollyanna" world, believing, even though I've traveled extensively, like to think of myself as fairly intelligent, tho some would argue that point, and truly think that we are at any given moment in time, exactly where we are supposed to be. There can be no love without pain, and no joy without passion.

So this week, The Passion of Christ is opening and while Mel is in my top 5 men I'd love to fuck, I haven't really delved into this extensively, but do look forward to seeing it.

The "issues" lie around his portrayal of the last day in Christ's life and if you believe in such, for everyone has some sort of faith, otherwise we'd be as lost as Madalyn Murry Ohare and they haven't found her yet!! So whether you call it Jehovah, Allah, God, Goddess, The great spirit, Buddha, etc etc, most religions are based on the same exact premiss, good v evil, do unto others, karma, etc. no matter what it's called. Of course the white right fundamentalist Christian male based hodes here in the US would have you believe otherwise, but their day is on the wane or at least I hope it is.

So, Mel has portrayed the people who challenged Jesus or Hey-Zeus *winking at jayne*, the population of what is now Israel, Hebrew, Jewish (there is a difference) as blood thirsty murderers. Having not seen the movie, remember, we can only speculate.

PULL Quote from NY Daily news: Some critics say the movie blames Jews for the death of Christ

Well if one takes the Bible as the Gospel truth, then that is a TRUE statement and I don't see what the fuss is.

So we are only to portray Jews as being 'stepped' on in such films as the "Holocaust" or "Schindler's List." Those got RAVE reviews and were great movies. But with any "group" of people, you have to take the good with the bad.

So, now the ADL wants to have the movie condemned. For telling, if you believe the bible, the truth??

At Sand Creek, the US calvary systematically slaughtered 500 Northern Cheyenne males and estimated 1500 females and children, cut their genitals off and sewed them on their jackets and caps and rode back into denver receiving a hero's welcome, even tho, Black Kettle was under the protection of the President of the US, was flying a white flag and the attack was at 5am in the morning, while most were asleep.

This is history, a fact, documented by the US government, yet we still have movies of John Wayne, leading the charge to kill "redskins". Does the ADL protest these movies??
anyway, my point is this. I have been to Israel, I grew up in NYC, lived more than 1/2 my life there, have dated and loved Jewish men, I've been to Germany, to Poland, to former "camps" where there is such an eerie feeling that it makes the hair stand up on your head.

I KNOW the Holocaust happened. We are about to have a similar one in this country if we don't get our current government in check. Homeland Security my ass.

So IF Mel's movie, says that 2004 yrs ago, a group of people, conspired to murder Hey-Zeus, and those people happen to be Jewish, so what?? That only means they are human. That only means, they were trying to preserve a life and religion as they knew it.

But I guess my question is, why is it ok to show them as 'down trodden' and not as the conquering heroes of the day?? The Bethlehem Militia, who hunted down, tried and convicted, and then systematically slaughtered the "rebel of the day"??

This is the part that has my confusion.
